Capture It and Learn (CapItAL) was developed by AWT to meet a growing demand in the Oil & Gas Industry to minimise the inevitable cost of repeated mistakes and the inability to retain good ideas. CapItAL is a web-enabled database system that facilitates the capture and dissemination of learning to all authorized team members belonging to an in-house or geographically dispersed organization. Like most companies AWT learned the hard way that repeating mistakes is: inefficient, costly and in extreme cases, hazardous to human life. Conversely, major competitive advantages could be realized by capturing positive learning (e.g. processes and techniques that either improve performance, safety, environmental impact and/or reduce cost).

AWT believes in the value of ensuring timely delivery of well integrity information to the point of use – the asset operator. In order to achieve this delivery process for operators of multiple assets both regionally and internationally, AWT has developed a NET based Well Integrity Management System (WIMS). In its simplest form, WIMS delivers information necessary for effective operator-driven asset management, to the required location, via company intranet or via the internet.

In a logical extension of the functionality of CapItAL and WIMS, AWT has developed the complimentary Activity Management Framework (AMF), which provides a clearly defined workflow process for planning, implementation and reporting of well-based activities. The AMF provides the necessary link to the Opco’s earth science database system and contributes significantly to the value of information contained there-in.
